Methodology
How RUUM works under the hood
How “Best match” works
Best match is the default sort. It weighs only these factors:
- Fit — does the community offer the type of care you picked?
- Distance — closer communities rank higher within your search radius.
- Budget — communities whose price fits your budget rank higher.
- Availability — communities with a room open now get a small lift.
- Freshness — information older than 60 days moves lower.
A community's RUUM plan is never a factor, and nobody can pay for placement. You can also sort by Lowest price, Recently updated, or Distance.
How freshness works
Every price and availability update is time-stamped, and listings show “Updated X days ago.” After 30 days we email the community and ask them to confirm with one click. After 60 days the listing shows “May be out of date” and ranks lower until it's confirmed.
How reviews are verified
Only current or recent residents and their families can leave a review, and only after a confirmed move-in. We never import reviews from other sites. Communities can reply once, publicly.
How to report an error
If something on a listing is wrong, use “Report” on the listing or write to us on our contact page. We check every report.
